FIRSTCLASS UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS HONORED BY eWEEK AS
TOP PRODUCT FOR PERSONAL PRODUCTIVITY
eWEEK
Magazine Selects Centrinitys FirstClass Unified
Communications as Winner in eXcellence Awards Program
Markham,
ON March 14, 2001 - Centrinity Inc. (TSE: CTI),
which develops and markets leading unified communications
and collaborative groupware technologies, today announced
its FirstClass Unified Communications solution was
honored by eWEEK magazine as the top Personal Productivity
technology in eWEEKs first annual eXcellence
Awards program. This marks the fourth award presented
to Centrinity since the formal introduction of FirstClass
Unified Communications in September 2000.
eWEEK
evaluated entries in the Personal Productivity category
based on their ability to address the double-edged
sword of business process integration. People
communicate with each other more promptly and fully
than ever before, but routinely speak of email and
voice mail monsters that devour much of their time
just in coordinating multiple streams of communications,
said Peter Coffee, technology editor at eWEEK. Centrinity's
FirstClass solutions take on this challenge, and earned
Centrinity eXcellence honors by solving an important
problem in an effective way.
Centrinitys
FirstClass Unified Communications solution is designed
to enhance productivity by simplifying and facilitating
the management of communications and information among
individuals and groups. FirstClass Unified Communications
provides true unified messaging capability by seamlessly
integrating all traditional messaging mediums
email, voice mail and fax into one unified
mailbox using a single collaborative store. Additionally,
it facilitates online collaboration through the incorporation
of award-winning groupware functionality, including
shared work areas, personal and group calendaring,
real-time conferencing, file and message archiving,
threaded discussions and web publishing.
Centrinitys
FirstClass Unified Communications debuted in New York
at the 2000 IT Expo in September where it was named
Best of Show. Recently, the editors and staff of Teleconnect
and Communications Solutions magazines each selected
Centrinitys FirstClass Unified Communications
solution as Product of the Year.
Our
product represents a strong value proposition for
todays increasingly mobile business professionals
by helping them simplify and manage the tremendous
flow of information in the workplace, said Myles
McGovern, president and CEO of Centrinity Inc. The
fact that our solution was selected from among technologies
outside of the unified communications space is an
exciting benchmark for us and a testament to the ability
of our product to enhance productivity.
eWEEKs
first annual eXcellence Awards program, an online
competition, selects the best new e-business products
and services introduced each year. The program provides
enterprise IT professionals an overall standard for
assessing products and services that enhance a variety
of facets of electronic commerce. eWEEK selected its
category winners after accepting nearly 1,000 entries
from more than 600 companies, each representing products
and services available today. eWEEK recognized award
winners in its March 11 issue.
Other
companies honored in the eXcellence Awards program
include: Agilent Technologies Inc.s Firehunter/e-Commerce
in the eCommerce Management and Analysis category;

CENTRINITY’S
FIRSTCLASS UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTION NAMED PRODUCT
OR THE YEAR BY TELECONNECT MAGAZINE.
Centrinity’s
solution selected based on carrier-class capability
and ability to provide access from most major devices
Markham,
Ontario, CANADA – January 30, 2001 – Centrinity Inc.
(TSE:CTI), which develops
and markets leading unified communications and collaborative
groupware technologies, today announced that its FirstClass
Unified Communications solution was named “Product
of the Year for 2000” in the Unified Messaging category
by Teleconnect Magazine.
Announced in the
January issue of Teleconnect, Centrinity’s FirstClass
Unified Communications solution was selected based
upon its carrier-class capability, its ability to
provide access from most major devices and its scalability.
"Unlike competing
products, Centrinity's Unified Communications solution
was specifically designed for the carrier market,"
said Andy Green, Technical Editor - Networking at
Teleconnect Magazine. "Other companies have taken
a unified messaging product that worked for enterprises
and have tried to pretend that it's carrier-class.
FirstClass Unified Communications was specifically
crafted to handle the one-time save-listen-delete
pattern that characterizes voicemail usage and that,
in high enough volumes, can bring just about every
other non-carrier UM product to its knees."
"We are pleased
that Centrinity’s Unified Communications solution
has once again been recognized as the premier unified
communications solution in the market,” said Myles
McGovern, president and CEO of Centrinity. “FirstClass
Unified Communications is a carrier-class solution
that delivers the telephony grade levels of scalability,
reliability and performance demanded by service providers.”
Centrinity’s ability
to host its Unified Communications solution through
Centrinity ASP was noted as an ideal option for service
providers.
Mr. McGovern added,
“Our Unified Communications solution represents a
strong value proposition for service providers, offering
them the opportunity to attract and retain subscribers
and increase revenues and profitability by providing
a high value added service to their business customers.
Centrinity ASP represents an attractive, quick-to-market
business model for service providers, allowing them
to rapidly deploy a major new service with minimal
capital and other resource requirements.”
Additional praise
was given to FirstClass Unified Communications for
its sensitivity to various message-viewing devices,
including PDAs and WAP-enabled phones.
“Centrinity’s
open evolution architecture provides access via most
major communications devices and allows quick and
easy development of protocols to support new devices
as they gain acceptance,” continued Mr. McGovern.
“This award is further testament that Centrinity is
well positioned to establish a leadership role in
the global unified communications marketplace.”
Centrinity’s FirstClass
Unified Communications solution is designed to enhance
productivity by simplifying and facilitating the management
of communications and information among individuals
and groups. FirstClass Unified Communications provides
true unified messaging capability by seamlessly integrating
all traditional messaging mediums – email, voice mail
and fax – into one unified mailbox using a single
collaborative store. Additionally, it facilitates
online collaboration through the incorporation of
world class groupware functionality, including shared
work areas, personal and group calendaring, real time
conferencing, file and message archiving, threaded
